Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Utter, a local-first dictation app for macOS. By downloading, installing, or using Utter, you agree to these Terms.
1. License
When you purchase Utter, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app under the activation limits associated with your license key. The license is for software access only and does not transfer ownership of the software or intellectual property.
2. Allowed use
You may use Utter for personal or internal business use. You may not resell, sublicense, distribute, reverse engineer for resale, or use Utter to provide a competing hosted or packaged product without written permission.
3. Payments and refunds
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Refund requests, taxes, and payment processing are subject to Lemon Squeezy’s checkout and payment policies.
4. Updates
We may release updates, bug fixes, and compatibility improvements over time. Some updates may be required to keep Utter working with current macOS versions or hardware changes.
5. Privacy and local processing
Utter is designed to process dictation locally on your Mac. We do not intentionally collect or store your audio or transcript content through the app’s normal operation. For more detail, see the Privacy Policy.
6. Availability and compatibility
Utter is currently intended for Apple Silicon Macs running supported versions of macOS. We do not guarantee compatibility with every future macOS release, third-party app, or environment.
7. Disclaimers
Utter is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect transcription accuracy, or compatibility with every app or workflow.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of Utter.
